Refund Policy

1. Overview
Chainless offers a generous free tier so you can evaluate all four APIs before committing to a paid plan. We want you to be confident in your purchase. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be issued.
2. Subscription Refunds
Paid subscriptions (Starter, Pro, Enterprise) are billed monthly in advance. You may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase, provided you have not exceeded 10% of your plan's monthly API quota during that period.
After the 7-day window, subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period. You may cancel at any time, and your access will continue until the end of the current billing cycle.
3. Plan Upgrades
When you upgrade your plan mid-cycle, you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing period. Upgrade charges are non-refundable once the upgraded plan has been activated and API calls have been made under the new limits.
4. Plan Downgrades
Downgrades take effect at the beginning of your next billing cycle. No refund or credit is issued for the difference between your current plan and the lower plan during the remaining period.
5. Service Outages
If Chainless experiences a service outage exceeding the 99.9% uptime SLA for your billing period, you may be eligible for a service credit. Credits are applied to your next billing cycle and are calculated proportionally to the downtime experienced. Service credits do not constitute cash refunds.
6. Billing Errors
If you believe you were charged in error (duplicate charges, incorrect amount, charges after cancellation), contact us within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate and issue a full refund if the error is confirmed.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email billing@chainless.dev with:
- Your account email address
- The date of the charge
- The reason for the refund request
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.
8. Exceptions
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- Account terminated for violation of our Terms of Service
- Dissatisfaction with API response data (risk scores, tax calculations, etc.) — these are informational and not guaranteed
- Failure to cancel before a renewal date
